How do you get from SFO to the motel?

You can travel from San Francisco International Airport by BART and local transit, taxi, rideshare or rental car. Choose BART if you want to avoid driving across the city; a taxi or rideshare lets you leave directly from the airport pickup area.
The BART station is in the International Terminal, Level 3. If you arrive at another terminal, take the free SFO AirTrain to reach it. From the station, board a northbound Yellow Line train toward Antioch or a Red Line train toward Richmond; both serve downtown San Francisco stations, including Powell Street.

Using BART and local transit
BART connects SFO with downtown San Francisco, where you can transfer to local transit. The train ride from the airport to downtown takes about 30 minutes.
At Powell Street, you can connect with the Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason cable cars, as well as San Francisco Muni routes.
Routes serving Russian Hill include the cable cars and routes 1 California, 8 Bayshore, 10 Townsend, 12 Folsom/Pacific, 19 Polk, 30 Stockton, 41 Union and 45 Union/Stockton. The San Francisco cable cars from Russian Hill are one local connection to consider.
Powell Street station is at 899 Market Street, at Powell and Market Streets. If you’re traveling with luggage or have mobility needs, BART stations have elevators and extra-wide fare gates. At Powell Street, getting between the street and train level requires two elevators: one at Ellis and Market Streets and another on the platform.
For payment, BART fare gates accept contactless bank cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay. Each rider age 5 or older needs a separate card or device, and you must use the same payment method to enter and exit. You can also buy a Clipper card at the SFO BART station; Clipper works on BART and Muni.

Arrival and check-in planning
Check the BART schedule before choosing a train, especially for a late arrival. Airport service runs from 4:58 a.m. to midnight on weekdays, 5:47 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays and 8:08 a.m. to midnight on Sundays. BART advises using its Trip Planner for specific departures and planned delays.
For a bus alternative, SamTrans Route 292 stops at airport terminals, and SamTrans operates from SFO around the clock. Late-night service is limited to Routes ECR Owl and 397. If you plan to connect from Powell Street to Russian Hill, Union Square and downtown San Francisco transit includes local routes serving the area.
Before you go, check the official site before you go: consult BART and SFO for current schedules, fares and pickup arrangements.
